London boutique hotel, The Hoxton in Shoreditch has collaborated with pop-up shopping centre Boxpark and replicated one of its hotel rooms to play host to competition winners throughout August.
Located in an empty shipping container, guests get to experience the mocked-up hotel room until August 23, complete with a bed and morning coffee and pastries from local eatery Lyles, as well as dinner at a number of nearby establishments.
The new project was developed to help the hotel strengthen its connections with local businesses, in order to give guests a quintessential east London experience. Other companies involved include interiors company Tusch und Egon, artist Stika and Newcomber Wines, which has been giving guests a bottle of wine each night. Cowshed has also provided a bathroom goodie bag for visitors.
Speaking to Event, Katie Brinsmead-Stockham, group brand director at Hoxton Hotels, said: "It’s about working with local businesses, doing things differently and showing off our small but perfectly-formed rooms," she said.
"Boxpark is doing retail differently and we do hotels differently, so it seemed like a perfect match," Brinsmead-Stockham added. "We initially explained why it could work for both of us and when it went ahead they provided the space and reached out to other brands within Boxpark. So many people have walked past the room and had a window to what a room at The Hoxton looks like; small but perfectly formed."
