Two hospitality CEOs join Room to Reward as ambassadors

Room-to-reward

Two experienced CEOs of two hotel groups have joined industry charity Room to Reward as ambassadors.

Stuart Bailey, CEO of Splendid Hospitality and Andy Townsend, CEO of Legacy Hotels & Resorts, have joined forces with the charity to provide support for its ongoing initiatives to help drive awareness in the hospitality sector.

All hotels within the Splendid Hospitality Group portfolio have been added to Room to Reward, which was launched in July 2015 to give back to society’s hidden heroes by rewarding them with unsold hotel room nights.

The organisation is committed to providing hotel stays to staff members and volunteers of the charity sector, through its national charity partnerships.

Individuals are nominated to receive a ‘thank you’ stay at a partner hotel, to recognise and reward their exceptional work for charity.

With 180 hotel partners and 130 charity partners, Room to Reward has donated over £122,000 of hotel stays to over 260 ‘Hidden Heroes’.

Both the new ambassador appointments will help the promotion of the programme and offer unbiased advice and knowledge to assist in the development of the charity’s profile and business goals.

Townsend commented: “I am delighted to be increasing our support of Room to Reward. It’s a fantastic way for the hotel industry to give something back to our communities and I am proud to be part of it. I look forward to working closely with the Room to Reward team and driving the initiative forward.”

Speaking about his appointment, Bailey said: “I’m both proud and delighted to join this brilliant initiative. It’s a simple way to say ‘thank you’ to those who do so much, for so many. We all know people who go above and beyond to help others and we look forward to welcoming these Hidden Heroes to our hotels.”
