Victorian property in Devon on the market for more than £1m


A hotel located on the edge of Exmoor National Park has been placed on the market with Christie + Co with an asking price of £1,450,000.

The Valley of Rocks Hotel in located in the coastal town of Lynton and operates under the Bay Hotels banner, owned and managed by Shearings Holidays.

One of the largest hotels in the area, the Victorian property retains many of its original features, offering 68 bedrooms, 27 of which boast scenic views of the surrounding coast.

The property also is home to a restaurant, lounge area and gardens.

Matthew Smith, director at Christie + Co’s Exeter office is handling the sale. He says: “The Valley of Rocks is an established, robust and profitable operation, trading well at a high occupancy. It benefits from a high percentage of repeat custom from guests who visit the region to take advantage of the many nearby attractions and beautiful coastline.”
