Forest Side, a new boutique hotel in the Lake District that opened in February, is going from strength to strength after being given top marks by top hotel expert, Fiona Duncan in The Telegraph.
The new Cumbrian hotspot, which is the third property in the Wildsmith Hotels portfolio, was described as ‘fabulous’ by the newspaper’s well-known reviewer, Duncan, who also went on to say that ‘Cumbria should be leaping for joy at the arrival of this stellar hotel’.
The new 20-bed hotel in Grasmere has been impressing guests since it opened its doors earlier this year after an 18-month £4m extensive refurbishment, and Duncan wrote that the hotel’s character manifested its within ‘moments ‘ of her arrival.
Duncan mentions her warm encounter with the hotel’s new general manager Tom Lewis and praises the contemporary, designer look of the property, and its attention to detail.
Also getting the thumbs up was the hotel’s ‘secret weapon’ head chef Kevin Tickle, who Duncan applauded for his importance he places on foraging.
Forest Side is continuing to progress, as this hugely positive review comes shortly after the hotel was awarded two accolades at the recent Cumbria Life’s Food and Drink Awards, Hotel Restaurant of the Year and Best Newcomer.
