Hoteliers from across the UK celebrated last night after winning a slew of awards at the annual Catey awards.
The Midland, in Manchester, won Hotel of The Year (Group) while Independent Hotel of the Year prize went to The Atlantic, Jersey.
The Park Plaza Westminster Bridge carried off the Accessibility Award while Gerard Basset of Hotel TerraVina won the Wine and Spirit Ambassador Catey.
Two highly regarded hoteliers, Nick Holmes from Rockliffe Hall and Erik Kervaon from The Bingham in Richmond missed out on the Manager of the Year award which went to Peter Avis, manager at Richard Branson’s Babylon Roof Garden.
Andrew Fairlie whose eponymous restaurant at Gleneagles Hotel has two Michelin stars, took the coveted chef award.
