K West Hotel in London has announced the appointment of Rhiannon Ball as the hotel’s new head chef, welcoming one of the country’s youngest female head chefs to head up the kitchen brigade.
25-year-old Ball will be taking the helm at the relaunched Studio Bar & Kitchen at K West and will be in charge of a team of 8 male chefs.
Ball has had a lot of experience in the sector already and has been a keen supporter of apprenticeships in the industry throughout her career in her previous role at Lancaster London.
She began her career with a two-week placement in the kitchen at Lancaster London, and stayed on for the next eight years, gaining knowledge in every sector of the operation.
After going on to soak up experiences at other establishments, including the Kensington Roof Gardens, she returned to Lancaster London in the role of sous chef, where she has been for the past four years.
As well as being promoted to Sous Chef, she became an ambassador for Apprenticeship Schemes in the UK, as well as mentoring and running Lancaster London’s apprenticeship scheme.
Now her goal at K West is to achieve two AA Rosette for the rock and roll West London restaurant.
