Young’s Orange Tree pub in Richmond-upon-Thames, Surrey, is adding 13 boutique hotel rooms in a major £7m refurbishment.
The Orange Tree re-opens September and is the latest property to be added to Young’s growing boutique hotel offering.
Three feature rooms and a family suite are included and all rooms will be fitted out with Hypnos beds, flat screen TVs with Sky Plus, free WiFi, mini-bars and Algotherm toiletries for the bathrooms.
Guests booking the top end rooms will benefit from king-sized beds, roll-top baths and walk-in showers.
At the same time the bar and 80-cover dining room will take on a rugby theme in keeping with the pub’s historic rugby ties – the Orange Tree is only a hop, skip and a jump away from the Twickenham ground.
A new menu has been devised that will feature dishes such as crispy squid, marinated courgette and white bean salad with lemon and basil mayonnaise alongside Young’s ale battered cod and chips.
The bar, stocked with Young’s cask ales and London craft beers, will have an extensive wine list and a ‘Shrubs’ vinegar cocktail menu .
Another Young’s pub, the Dog & Fox, just down the road in Wimbledon, added 17 boutique bedrooms in May while The Windmill in Clapham has also recently re-opened after a refurbishment and the addition of 13 additional boutique bedrooms.
