A boutique hotel, pub and restaurant has relaunched after a major refurbishment to transform the building into a more modern establishment.
The Bear is Esher has now reopened to the public and is part of the Young’s pub group, who invested in the facelift.
Throughout the transformation process, the seven-bedroom hotel in the High Street retained many of the building’s original features, including traditional fireplaces to keep connections with the property’s roots.
General manager Paul Hogg invited guests to a special VIP launch party on November 12 to celebrate the hotel’s new look, and will now hope to be a big hit with locals and visitors alike.
The Bear is now open all day for breakfast, lunch and dinner, serving British cuisine with a modern twist from its seasonal menu.
Speaking to Get Surrey, Andy Nash, operations director for Young’s pub group, said: "We’re very happy to re-launch The Bear after an extensive make-over to the pub and dining room.
"The Bear has always been popular and has a fantastic location, but this refurbishment gives it a new lease of life which we know our locals will appreciate.
"We have taken inspiration from Sandown Park Racecourse and Brooklands historic race track.”
