Crest Hotels completes phase one of refurb at Ludlow’s Feathers Hotel

Under new ownership with Crest Hotels, The Feathers Hotel in Ludlow is to open its new tea room this week to mark the completion of its first phase of renovation.

The former bar area at the hotel, which has been closed since August 2018 after fatal outbreak of Legionnaires’ disease, has been transformed into a new tea room with 34 covers, with the menu overseen by group executive chef Wayne Neil.

Jason Hiley, group operations director for Crest Hotels said: “This has been a long time in the planning but we are absolutely delighted that the doors to the hotel are open once again with our fabulous new tea room.  The decision to create a tea room felt like the natural choice when looking at the target demographic of both our hotel and Ludlow as a destination, we feel it really compliments the high street perfectly.”

The hotel was acquired by Crest Hotels in December 2018, with the group investing more than £1m into repositioning the 40-bedroom hotel and restoring its reputation.

The public areas, bedrooms, and function suite are being redeveloped, as well as new plumbing throughout.

A lounge and welcome area will also be created, plus a new destination restaurant.
