“We are delighted to share that we will be welcoming A NEW Head Chef in August – Olly Pierrepont.

“Olly has worked in some of the country’s finest Michelin Starred restaurants over the last 15 years – most recently as Head Chef at La Trompette, London.

“If you would like to join our award-winning kitchen team please do get in touch we would love to hear from you. We are looking to expand and continue the Driftwood tradition of wonderful food.”

Pierrepont said: “I’m thrilled to be joining the team at Driftwood. My most recent role, with Rob Weston at La Trompette, allowed me to develop so much as a cook and as a manager, and led to me understanding what I truly love about cooking.

“I can’t wait to start my new position, build the team and make the most of the fantastic produce and great suppliers here in Cornwall.”

Paul Robinson, owner of Driftwood said: “We are really looking forward to Olly joining us next month and bringing his expertise to our award-winning restaurant. We’re not only looking forward to welcoming a hugely talented chef to the team, but we’re also excited for him to put his stamp on our food offering and work on refreshing the menu. We wish our current chef, Chris Eden, all the best in his next role.”

Chris Eden announced last month that he was to leave his position as head chef at Driftwood after 12 years to move to Gidleigh Park.

Eden was awarded a Michelin star in 2012, becoming the first Cornish born chef to hold a star in their home county.

Retaining the star ever since, Eden was additionally awarded a fourth AA rosette in 2018, becoming just one of four chefs in Cornwall to hold this accolade.

Driftwood is owned by Paul and Fiona Robinson.
