Four-star Oxfordshire guest house with easy access to Cotswolds comes to market

Corncroft Guest House

Christie + Co is appealing for a new owner to take over a four-star Oxfordshire guest house on the edge of the Cotswolds.

The four-AA-star rated Corncroft comprises 11 bedrooms over three floors, as well as a breakfast room, lounge and garden.

Current owner Richard Turner has owned the property for 13 years, having redesigned and invested in the guest house over time, building a successful business and customer base.

He has now decided to sell in order to pursue other investment opportunities and comments: “The challenge of developing and creating Corncroft has given me an immense sense of achievement and pleasure and will be sorely missed.”

Operating from a Grade-II listed building, the guest house sits at the corner of Crofts and Corn Street, which is where it gains its current name, but the property itself has a rich history.

Previously known as ‘Parliament House,’ the building is rumoured to be the site where James I held a Parliament in the 17th century.

Tom Orchard, business agent at Christie & Co is handling the sale and comments, “Corncroft Guest House is extremely well presented, situated close to the High Street of Witney and ideally positioned for easy access to both Oxford and the Cotswolds.”

Christie & Co is marketing the freehold interest of Corncroft Guest House off an asking price of £975,000.
