Castle Cottage Hotel in Harlech, Wales, situated at the top of the world’s steepest street, is on the hunt for a new owner.

Available through Fleurets, the seven-bedroom property is situated at the top of Ffordd Pen Llech, which has just been confirmed by Guinness World Records as the steepest street in the world, having taken the title from Baldwin Street in Dunedin, New Zealand.

Castle Cottage Restaurant with Rooms has been owned and run by Glyn and Jacqueline Roberts for the past 30 years, who are now choosing to sell in order to retire.

The couple commented: “Looking forward to our retirement, we reduced our operating hours to a four day week between Easter and October and opening Friday and Saturday only off season.”

Lesley Watmough is marketing the hotel, for which the freehold is available, off a guide price of £645,000.

Watmough commented: “This is a truly unique opportunity, the hotel has been awarded 5 stars by Visit Wales and is also a short distance from the medieval castle. Given the current operators reduced hours, there is also huge scope for business growth.”
