Hoxton bar to be transformed into London’s first whisky hotel

London’s first whisky hotel could be coming for the capital following a five-floor expansion of a bar in Hoxton.

According to The Standard, Black Rock, which was launched in 2016 by Tom Aske and Tristan Stephenson, is to expand into offering accommodation with the launch of three hotel bedrooms this summer as part of the project.

The site on Christopher Street has already launched its new tavern space and will open a blending room alongside the new rooms later this year, expanding into the four floors above the bar.

The hotel will take over the second and third floors with ‘minimalist but luxurious rooms’ including two compact lodgings and a larger suite.

Black Rock Tavern comprises a library of 40 to 50 whiskies with Japanese-inspired décor, bamboo ceiling panels and graffiti wall art by artist Ryan Gajda.

The new blending room will host tasting experiences.
