Trade exhibition, Independent Hotel Show, has brought its first Europe edition to a close following a successful two days in Amsterdam.
Hoteliers from The Netherlands, Germany and the UK visited RAI Amsterdam across May 8 and 9 to discover what the show had to offer, meeting suppliers lining the aisles and soaking up inspiration at the through-provoking seminars and networking sessions.
With 120 exhibitors from The Netherlands, as well a handful from the UK, the exhibition was understandably smaller than its London sister, but visitor numbers were said to have reached around 1,200 just on day one.
Reputable suppliers, from the likes of Dyson to Technogym and Astro Lighting, confirmed that they had been happy with the callable of visitors, having had fruitful conversations with some of Amsterdam’s biggest hoteliers and buyers.
Highlights of the two-day exhibition included a session titled, ‘scale up by retain your independent spirit’, where a panel, including Kevin Rockey from The Hoxton, discussed how best to expand whilst ensuring the guest experience remains at the heart of the operation.
The Social Business Space, curated by Saatchi Art, was an area for operators to come and share ideas on a particular topic or theme, in a ‘speed-dating’ style environment.
The Independent Hotel Show will once again be held at Olympia London from 15-16 October, with the Boutique Hotelier Personal Service Star Awards taking place on the first evening.
Organisers teased a number of new additions for the London show, with details to be revealed soon.
Independent Hotel Show is also expected to expand into other European and international cities in the future.
