A new 15-bedroom boutique hotel has opened to the public on Brick Lane in London, pioneered by the team by The Culpeper.

The Buxton has been restored into a new boutique hotel and pub and takes its name in homage to former Truman brewery owner, Sir Thomas Buxton who lived and worked on Brick Lane.

The five-storey hotel is the second to launch from the team behind The Culpeper on Commercial Street which launched in 2016.

Materials for The Buxton have been sourced as locally as possible, with carved fossilised Portland stone from Dorset, artwork from London Fields and a Hackney-crafted iron balustrade adorning the staircase leading up to the rooms and rooftop.

Each of the 15 bedrooms are simple and paired back, featuring bespoke, multifunctional furniture, and priced at a flat rate of £100.

The rooftop space for guests have views over the East End and is planted with an array of herbs that are used in the kitchen.

The open kitchen and bar on the ground floor is the focal point for the large open space, with the a la carte menu featuring regional European and British dishes served throughout the day.
