Richard Allen, executive chef at Rockliffe Hall’s The Orangery, is launching a new afternoon tea experience.
Available from July 1, High Tea at The Orangery will be served, as the name suggests, in the hotel’s flagship 4 AA Rosette restaurant, while traditional afternoon tea will be continue to be served at The Clubhouse on the site in Darlington.
The High Tea takes inspiration from the changing seasons and the produce available on Rockliffe’s kitchen garden and estate grounds.
The menu will use a lot of the same ingredients used in The Orangery’s evening menus, curated by Allen and the team.
The Orangery High Tea is available every day between 1 and 3pm for £35 per person, with a Champagne Tea priced at £49 per person.
Richard Allen says: “This is an exciting new addition to what we offer in The Orangery. We’ll be using a lots of the same ingredients in our High Tea that feature in our evening menus, including many products grown on our fabulous estate. The team and I are really looking forward to giving daytime diners a taste of the fabulous food we offer in our beautiful restaurant, all wrapped up in sumptuous five star service.”
