Rudding Park in Harrogate is one of the first spas in the UK to introduce a range of treatments using Cannabidiol products.
Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally occurring constituent found in the cannabis plant and will be used in a series of new treatments at the luxury hotel in Yorkshire.
The hotel and spa has collaborated with MariPharm, a supplier of high quality CBD products, to create a range of experiences which could assist with pain relief, promote anti-ageing, reduce anxiety and depression and support overall positive mental health.
Rudding Park Spa guests will also have the option to add a CBD Experience to a number of existing spa treatments at £15 per person. For every CBD Experience booking, £2 will be donated to the Sir Robert Ogden Macmillan Centre in Harrogate.
Sarah Johnson, Rudding Park spa manager explains: “As a natural ingredient, research has shown CBD can help with an array of ailments which makes it hugely appealing to those who care about what they eat, drink or apply to their skin. As a new trend taking the wellness and beauty world by storm, it’s important for us to embrace CBD so we can offer guests what they are looking from a spa experience.”
CBD is one of at least 85 cannabinoid compounds found in cannabis and is popular for its medicinal benefits.
CBD is legal in the UK as long as it does not contain more than 0.2% of THC, the crucial component that gives cannabis its psychotic effects.
Rudding Park’s new £9.5m spa opened in May 2017, following almost a 13-year project, which saw a new 45,000 sq ft building constructed on the 300-acre site, complete with 11 treatment rooms, a rasul, steam rooms, indoor pool and outdoor infinity pool, a new Horto restaurant, saunas and a range of mind and sense zones.
