£1.1m makeover at Barnstaple boutique gives the hotel the ‘wow’ factor, says GM

A £1.1m makeover at a Greene King-owned hotel in Barnstaple is now complete, with the general manager saying the property now boasts the real ‘wow’ factor.

Following a three-month refurbishment project at Cedars Inn, the hotel is now home to 37 stylish bedrooms, each with new bathrooms, carpets and furniture.

The project was the second phase of a project that saw the restaurant and bar renovated in July.

General manager Peter Elder says that feedback has already been overwhelming positive and the hotel’s ratings on TripAdvisor have improved as a result.

He says it’s always been about encouraging people to come back to Barnstaple over and over again.

Elder said additional housekeeping staff had been taken on, and a boost in local restaurant trade had led to the recruitment of eight new restaurant staff members.

This week Cedars Inn will be launched a new four-week game festival menu.
