49% of Brits book Valentine’s trips last minute

Almost half of guests are leaving it to the last minute to book their Valentine’s getaway, with 49% usually giving themselves less than 14 days to organise a romantic trip.

These are the findings to emerge from a survey from hotel group QHotels.

Half of Brits leave Valentine’s plans until just days before February 14th, with 2% not making their reservation until Valentine’s Day itself. The survey also revealed that it was men who are more likely to arrange a romantic night away than women, with 74% of bookings made by males.

This leaves ample opportunity for hoteliers to market their romance packages right up until the last minute, giving you the chance to really capitalise on the season.

Claire Rowland, director of marketing at QHotels, said: “Although we certainly wouldn’t recommend leaving Valentine’s Day plans until the last minute, there is always time to arrange a romantic surprise for that special someone!”
