A hotel in Cumbria is bidding to bring a boost to its weddings bookings, after introducing a new made-to-order golf buggy to proceedings.
Abbey House Hotel unveiled the new £20k gadget earlier this week as bosses strive to offer couples something different for their big day.
It will be rolled out for wedding picture shoots and if happy couples wish to take a tour of the grounds ahead of their big day.
The buggy, which comes complete with monogrammed luxury upholstery and built-in champagne bucket, will also be made available for guests who have mobility issues and wish to experience the Abbey House’s gardens.
Hotel general manager, John Horton, said: “The new buggy has created a real buzz amongst the team and its versatility means it can be used for a number of purposes.
“It has already been used to take happy couples planning their wedding on tours of the hotel grounds, and it will also be on hand when their big day arrives.
A specialist instructor was commissioned to deliver training to all staff in how to safely operate and drive the buggy.
Abbey House Hotel is a four-star venue, achieving the status in 2014 following a £4m revamp.
The hotel has been named best wedding venue in Cumbria on six occasions.
