Expansion plans are afoot at The Chester Hotel in Aberdeen, with its events and conference facilities set for redevelopment.
The establishment, which is the only AA four-star silver rated hotel in Aberdeen, will extend its Granite Suite events space to allow for a maximum of 400 people for a drinks reception, 320 for a dinner dance, 340 for dinner, and 400 in a theatre setting.
For a conference set-up, the limit will increase from 200 to 320 once the work is complete.
General manager of The Chester Hotel, Stephen Gow, had this to say: “Although we are already one of the largest venues in the city, the decision to expand was made in response to a growing number of enquiries from event organisers looking for a quality venue with increased capacity.
“This will give us one of the biggest hotel event spaces in Aberdeen, and we believe it will fill a significant gap in the market.”
Work on the extension is due to get underway in late December 2018, with the expected completion date being next spring.
Although the ballroom will be closed for several months in the new year, the hotel will continue to operate as normal during the construction work.
