ADA Cosmetics International acquires RDI Malaysia in bid to strengthen global footprint


ADA Cosmetics International, a leading amenities supplier to hotels across the country, has acquired the Malaysian company RDI Malaysia, in a bid to further strengthen its position in the Asia Pacific region.

The move marks ADA International’s ongoing expansion across the globe, and follows on from the takeover of Danish company Scandinavian Amenities and British brand Pacific Direct in 2015.

The company supplies guest room toiletries to three- and five-star hotels around the world, and is currently present in over 50 countries.

ADA International is responsible for supplying some of Britain’s best-loved amenity brands to a number of top hotels in the UK, such as The White Company, Asprey, Orla Kiely and Floris.

Now it will expand its footprint in Asia with the takeover of RDI Malaysia, which specialises in the production and bottling of top quality body care products and soaps. The company’s headquarters are located in Kuala Lumpur, where it employs 110 people; the primary sales markets are Asia and North America.

The acquisition permits us to offer our local clients true added value; local production and warehousing enables them to profit from first-class quality and short delivery times.”

Since its founding in 1979, ADA has become the European market leader for guest amenities and after its management buyout in 2006, the ADA Group is financed predominantly by private equity investors.

The company’s organic growth in the past three years was supported by specific acquisitions in cooperation with majority shareholder Ardian.
