Adam is general manager at London boutique, Georgian House Hotel and this is his second appearance in the Power List. 2017 was hugely successful year for both Rowledge and the hotel as he introduced a number of new concepts to the business and continued to strive for excellence. He has helped create a 38% year-on-year RevPAR increase, boosted employee engagement and driven innovation through the development of the Wizard Chambers and two-person cinema, Pimlico Pictures – both launched to great success. He also took the hotel from four to five-star guest accommodation, improved TripAdvisor rankings – from 68th to 13th on guest accommodation. In 2017, Rowledge worked alongside head chef Fern, to create a cheese afternoon tea, which resulted in over 400 covers and more than £14,500 worth of sales in just 12 days.
Last year, he introduced a new revenue management strategy restructuring the way the hotel works with OTAs and launched a new website and booking system. This contributed to the year-on-year increase in RevPAR; website conversion grew by 28% and bookings increased by 4%; equating to a combined additional £400k.
Georgian House also received the Springboard Education and Industry Partnership Award, thanks to Rowledge encouraging the team to work closely with schools, colleges and universities. He champions the personal success of the team. In the last year, two team members were shortlisted in the Umbrella Training awards and reception manager Kia Hellens won Boutique Hotelier Front of House Manager award.
