Adam Rowledge, general manager at Georgian House in London, is to leave his position in July after four years to launch his own consultancy business.
Rowledge, who was crowned Independent Hotelier of the Year at last year’s Independent Hotel Show, will launch Rowledge Associates to focus to ‘improving the employee experience in hospitality’.
Rowledge also scooped the Highly Commended award for General Manager of the Year at the 2018 Boutique Hotelier Personal Service Star Awards.
Having joined Georgian House in 2015, he took the Grade-II listed property from four- to five-star status, overseeing a number of developments and improvements at the London hotel including a refurbishment of the bar and breakfast room and reception area, plus the launch of new Harry Potter-inspired wizard chamber bedrooms.
Rowledge’s new consultancy will provide a ‘people-first approach to business’ and will offer support and training on improving internal engagement by focusing on the wellbeing and development of the team.
Rowledge said: “I’m extremely excited to launch the consultancy and work with partners from across the hospitality industry. My focus will be to help businesses to be values led, optimise their recruitment and to develop leadership and wellbeing strategies to improve profitability.”
Starting his career at Hotel Du Vin in 2007, Rowledge took the position of front of house manager at Hand Picked Hotels’ Nutfield Priory Hotel & Spa before moving to South Lodge Hotel in March 2011 and then The Hempel before returning to the Nutfield as deputy GM.
