Alderley Edge Hotel appoints new general manager as owners invest £2m into development


Alderley Edge Hotel has announced the appointment of a new general manager, as owners JW Lees pledges to invest £2m into the development of the property.

The four-star hotel in Cheshire has welcomed John Scott to the role of GM, who joins from Best Western’s Pinewood Hotel in Wilmslow, where he has been for the past six years.

Scott joins at a time when the hotel, part of the JW Lees group, is to undergo a £2m refurbishment, which will see the total redesign and renovation of the restaurant and reception areas.

Work will begin on phase one in September, while phase two, which will see the hotel’s 50 bedrooms transformed, will start in January 2018.

Bernard Carroll Design has been tasked with the proposed changes.

Scott has vast experience in managing refurbishments, having overseen renovations at The Pinewood Hotel.
