The Highfield House Hotel also boasts a leased independent restaurant as part of the building, where guests can dine.

Ashley Hotels will retain all staff who wish to remain with the business and have appointed a new general manager after the voluntary departure of the previous general manager.

Alim Hirji, director of Ashley Hotels, said: “The Highfield House Hotel represents a strategic acquisition for the group and we very much see this being a profitable business given the location attracts both the business and leisure market with Southampton University contributing to all year round sales.

“Over the years, the Royal Bank of Scotland has been an avid supporter of our business strategy and we are pleased they have once again invested in our future to help us provide affordable and comfortable accommodation across the UK.”
