Ayrshire hospitality portfolio announces new board appointments


Costley & Costley, a portfolio of hospitality sites in Ayrshire, has appointed two new executives to its board and a further senior appointment to its management team.

The group, which was founded in 1988 by Bill and Cath Costley, has welcomed Dawn Costley to its board who will be tasked with growing the company’s wedding and function business. 

The daughter-in-law of the owner, Bill Costley, and wife of executive chef, Andrew, Dawn has worked for the company for more than 12 years and will be based at the company’s Brig a Doon Country House Hotel.

Joining her is Linda Leckie who recently celebrated her 29th anniversary with the business. Following 11 years in local government, Leckie joined Costley & Costley as a part-time receptionist before becoming general manager at Highgrove Country House Hotel and latterly PA to Bill Costley.

Lynn Jess has also been appointed as management accountant.

Previously with sportswear company Trespass, Jess has worked with a number of leading brands including BAE and Bridge of Weir Leather Co  and is a member of ICAS.

Her appointment follows on from Lorna Gibson who joined the business last month as strategic development director.

Bill Costley, chairman, said: “I’m delighted that we have strengthened our Board experience and its depth of diversity which will I’m sure have a significant impact on the business going forward. All four women are highly skilled in their respective fields and will play significant roles as we embark on our growth strategy.”

The Costley & Costley portfolio includes Lochgreen, Brig o’Doon, Doonbrae, Highgrove, Ellisland country house hotels, the Cochrane Inn, Souter’s Inn and a patisserie and chocolatier.
