Beannchor Group, one of the largest independent owner operators of bars, pubs, restaurants and night clubs in Ireland is planning to open a new £4m hotel to add to its portfolio.
The owners of the Merchant Hotel and the Bullitt Hotel in Belfast have revealed plans to launch a new 52-bedroom hotel in Lisburn, Northern Ireland if planning permission is approved by councillors.
The new project will occupy a former Argos store and first-floor space next door in Lisburn Square, with the total space comprising 30,000 sq ft of space.
It will feature a destination ground floor bar and restaurant accessed from the central Lisburn Square piazza, which is already home to the group’s Little Wing pizzeria.
The group, which is headed up by Bill Wolsey, opened boutique hotel Bullitt in 2017, with the new Lisburn hotel due to open in the summer next year.
Speaking to Irish News, Wolsey said: “We already have a presence in Lisburn Square through our very successful Little Wing Pizzeria and have been working alongside the Square’s owners for the past six months to create the vision for a hotel that the people of Lisburn can be proud of.
“Hospitality continues to be one of Northern Ireland’s most important industries and largest employers. We believe the creation of 75 new full time and part time jobs will be a major economic boost for Lisburn Square and the city.”
