Bedford Lodge Hotel & Spa in Newmarket, Suffolk has welcomed Lee Cooper as its new executive head chef of Squires Restaurant and Roxana Bar.
Cooper joins Squires Restaurant from his role as executive chef at Milsoms Kesgrave Hall in Ipswich. It is thought he has replaced Sean Melville who has been executive chef at Bedford Lodge since 2016.
Prior to Milsoms, Cooper also worked at The Crewe Hall Hotel and Mottram Hall Hotel, before moving to East Anglia where he worked at a range of hotels and restaurants, including Infusions Bury St Edmunds and The Oaksmere in Eye.
Commenting on the new appointment, chief executive, Noel Byrne, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Lee as executive head chef at Bedford Lodge Hotel & Spa. Lee’s cooking style will really complement the hotel and our current offering. He has a great passion and we cannot wait to see what he achieves.”

Bedford Lodge Hotel & Spa was originally a Georgian hunting lodge built for the Sixth Duke of Bedford and was converted into a country house hotel in the 1940s.
