Belfast boutique gets green light for second expansion to triple its size

A Belfast hotel is set to get a second expansion while work is underway on a 46-bed extension that was given the go ahead earlier this year.

Ten Square Hotel in the city centre will now plough on with a 66-bedroom expansion, turning Scottish Amicable House on Donegall Square South from offices to rooms.

It comes at a time when a project is already underway to convert the former Lesley House on Linenhall Street into 46 extra bedrooms for the hotel.

Ten Square Hotel is currently home to 22 bedrooms split across three floors and situated in a Grade-I listed building. Jospers is the hotel’s prime Irish restaurant, serving breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner.

When both expansion projects are completed, Ten Square Hotel will have a total of 134 bedrooms, more than six times its amount now.

Belfast City Council’s planning committee gave permission for the change of use for Scottish Amicable House on Tuesday night.
