Best Western Great Britain has ended its fiscal year with the record recruitment of 60 new hotels to its brand as the impact of the pandemic year reshapes the industry.
The membership organisation has seen a surge in new signings, including the addition of a new World Hotel Distinctive Collection, the first in the key market of Edinburgh, taking its total to over 300 members.
Mark Stanley, head of hotel development at Best Western Great Britain said: “Our brand profile and what we can offer independent hotels in key and secondary markets makes us attractive to groups, owners and family hoteliers. We provide the safety in numbers as well as big brand benefits and I can’t wait to bring more into membership in 2021 and 2022.”
The key flag of World Hotels Distinctive Collection Ten Hill Place is a strategic development for Best Western as it is now able to offer upper upscale and luxury hotels across Great Britain with brand and loyalty support.
Rob Paterson, chief executive officer of Best Western Great Britain said: “Ten Hill Place was the perfect fit for the new World Hotels brand. We wanted the first hotel and location to be special and we have got both in Ten Hill and Edinburgh, it makes a real statement of expansion intent to have the World Hotels flag in Scotland and we have more exciting additions to announce soon, building on Mark and Terii’s work with the existing Best Western brands.”
