Room names range from Hop Pickers Huts in the orchard of the hotel’s garden to Hideaways in the main house.

Classic Comfy Luxe rooms are scattered throughout the two main buildings and the separate Barn contains two treatment rooms and one upstairs-downstairs rustic bedroom, with private terrace overlooking the kitchen garden and water meadows.

Over the past four decades, the main house has been home to some renowned parties and gigs playing host in the ‘70s to Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. Its ‘Piggy’ makeover has made sure to retain many period features including large fireplaces, secret stairways and panelled rooms.

Outside, a new Coach House contains a greenhouse restaurant with open kitchen. Within The Coach House are 12 further bedrooms, while seven fitting Hop Pickers’ Huts have been created from reclaimed materials sit within the grounds.

CEO of Home Grown Hotels Robin Hutson says: “We’ve had a great couple of years, with customers seeming to love what we do. Occupancy is in the mid 90%’s in our rural locations and we know from our guests and their invaluable feedback that they want more PIGs. After searching far and wide for truly unique properties, we really are over the moon about our new hotel in Kent.”

Interiors have been overseen by acclaimed designer Judy Hutson, renowned for creating the Pig’s signature style.

Formerly Bridge Place Country Club, The Pig at Bridge Place is a 17th century manor house just outside the village of Bridge in the Nailbourne valley, three miles south of Canterbury, Kent.

In January we reported how The Pig at Bridge Place was starting its recruitment drive ahead of its launch in a few months’ time.

The hotel is part of a £30m expansion plan from parent company, Home Grown Hotels, headed up by Robin Hutson, with the new hotel one of three new additions due to launch over the next 18 months.

The Pig-at Bridge Place will open in May 2019; The Pig-at Harlyn Bay will open in winter 2019 and The Pig-on the South Downs will open in spring 2020.
