Robin Hutson says: “This is amongst the very best coastal settings anywhere in Cornwall with immediate access to a beautiful and immensely sought after part of the North Cornish coastline with some of the county’s most celebrated beaches a stone’s throw from the hotel.”

The Pig at Harlyn Bay will become the seventh hotel in the Pig portfolio, part of Home Grown Hotels.

The new hotel is part of a £30m expansion programme being rolled out by owners Robin and Judy Hutson, and follows the launch of The Pig at Bridge Place in 2019.

The Pig at Harlyn Bay will be set within a Grade-II listed mansion dating back to the 16th century, which sits at the end of a long driveway surrounded by almost five acres of gardens.

As well as a welcoming reception area, snug bar and relaxing Map Room, the new property will be home to a restaurant, a wine store and private dining room all ‘full of Cornish character’.

Upstairs in the main house, there are 11 bedrooms, with a further 15 bedrooms in the stables, which sit left to the main building.

Rooms will be split into the recognisable categories as well as new ones including Snug with Terrace, Little Look Out and Even Bigger Comfy Luxe.

There will also be four of the ‘most sexiest’ Shepherd’s Huts, situated on the way to the kitchen garden. All rooms and spaces have been designed by Judy Hutson, the creative behind the look and feel of all The Pigs in the litter.

The kitchen garden at The Pig at Harlyn Bay is currently being restored to its former glory. There are also two Potting Sheds where spa treatments will be offered.

A new addition to this Pig is The Lobster Shed, a separate alfresco food offering in the gardens of the hotel.

The grill and wood oven will be housed in a shed made from reclaimed materials with a terrace with tables for outdoor drop-in dining, serving local seafood and flatbreads and drinks.

The space will also offer outdoor showers.

Following the opening of The Pig at Harlyn Bay, attention will turn to the launch of The Pig in the South Downs set for spring 2021.
