The bosses at a country hotel in Gisburn are seeking planning permission from local councillors to build and extend the current facilities at the site.
Stirk House Hotel could soon be given a new spa, brasserie and walled garden if the project is given the green light to meet demand from the hotel’s evolving client base.
The 30-bedroom hotel is currently home to leisure facilities such as tennis courts and a swimming pool but new additions are required as the business continues to build on its reputation for quality for food and service.
A core part of the business is the hosting of weddings, often with exclusive use of the bedrooms and facilities.
A spokesman for the hotel said that there was now a need for steam and sauna rooms, hot tubs and a new swimming pool.
The plans would see a new two-storey spa created and launch a small brasserie above.
