Boutique hotel 62 Castle Street brings in local restaurateur


Centre Island, the operator of Liverpool’s 62 Castle Street, has brought the man behind local restaurant What’s Cooking in to manage the boutique hotel’s F&B operation. 

The restaurant’s owner Guy Lawrenson has invested a six-figure sum into the conversion of a 5000 sq ft space into a new venue at the property, the Liverpool Echo reported.

What’s at Sixty will include a bar and restaurant, private dining room, boardroom and social spaces, and is expected to create 50 jobs.

It will offer a “southern soul” menu, inspired by Memphis and the Deep South of America.

R2 Architecture’s Richard Eastwood has been appointed to design the bar and restaurant spaces.
