Brend Hotels’ Park Hotel unveils £2m new look in a bid to become a ‘community hub’

The Park Hotel in Barnstaple, part of Brend Hotels, has unveiled the results of its recent £2m refurbishment, as it bids to become a real ‘community hub’ for locals.

The project, which kicked off in January, has seen the hotel’s bar and brasserie transformed, plus a new menu introduced showcasing seasonally-changing, locally-sourced dishes.

The 40 bedrooms at the Park Hotel have also been given a refresh, fitted out with Smart TVs, power showed and new air conditioning.

The South West group, which owns and operates 11 hotels in the UK, is planning to redevelop the rest of its portfolio, as part of ongoing investment into the Brend Hotels’s wider estate.

Brend Hotels managing director, John Brend said the project was one of the company’s most ambitious to date and is hoping the hotel will attract the local community and make a positive contribution to its surrounding area.

Speaking to the North Devon Journal, he said: “Our philosophy has always been to keep improving our hotels to their full potential. Now we have taken the Park to a whole new level, with one of our most ambitious development projects.

“Completely different from our other hotels, the Park is offering something completely new in Barnstaple – a luxury modern four-star standard, hi tech hotel with a great new bar and brasserie and is open to everyone.”
