Award-winning Yorkshire Dales hotel Brownber Hall is to reopen as a private rental property only after owners Peter and Amanda Jaques-Walker realised they were unable to operate the business in the same way post Covid-19.
The hotel will open under its new guise later this summer, with the duo also launching Brownber House, a four-bedroom Victorian farmhouse on the estate which is currently under refurbishment.
A new virtual concierge service is being trialled, and offered alongside a contactless check-in, which includes a virtual house tour video shared alongside pre-arrival information to comply with new regulations and distancing measures.
Amanda says: “We think the best way for people to experience the best of Brownber, and fully enjoy the space, is it to let them take over the whole place themselves, but with more special benefits than a typical self-catered package – a kind of Private Hire PLUS with additional F&B offerings.”
The House and Hall are located next door to each other, with a private 50m pathway between the two and groups can hire one or both properties, each with gardens, BBQs and firepits.
Peter and Amanda acquired Brownber Hall in 2016 and transformed the property into a characterful boutique hotel.
