Brucefield Estates launches woodland eco bothies for winter

Brucefield Estate Woodland Eco Bothies

Brucefield Estate has announced the winter launch of three woodland eco bothies on the estate.

The bothies have been introduced as part of the 420-hectare estate’s regeneration plan and each bothy can welcome two adult guests and features a gallery bedroom accessed via a ladder.

The bothies are built from timber and the interiors are a mix of Scottish and Scandinavian styles. Each bothy comes equipped with a small kitchenette, a small fridge, kettle, twin hob, mini oven and toaster, as well as a wet room featuring a rain shower.

Luxurious touches include sheepskins from Skyeskyns, fabrics by Amy Britton, bespoke art by Brendan McNeill, Roberts radios, and a Futon mattress with Egyptian linen bedding. Each bothy also has large sliding doors to access the decking and BBQ fire pit outside.

There is no Wi-Fi or television, although screen addicts can connect to Wi-Fi at the hotel’s reception.

During their stay, guests can explore the natural surroundings via woodland walks and bike rides, while ecological and heritage workshops are planned for 2022.

Guests are able to enjoy a complimentary breakfast hamper on their first morning, which includes artisan products that have been sourced locally.

Owner Victoria Bruce-Winkler commented: “The woodland eco bothies are a blend of my childhood memories and our recent activities at Brucefield: creating a cosy, warm light-filled interior amongst the trees and surrounded by wildlife. I’m thrilled to share this very special place with our guests to create their own memories in this historic woodland setting.”

The woodland eco bothies are priced from £230 per night for a minimum of a two night stay midweek or a three-night stay at weekends and accommodate two guests.

Bookings are being taken for winter 2021.
