Burleigh Court Hotel in the Cotswolds is under new ownership.

The 18-bedroom hotel went on the market in September 2018 with an asking price of £1.6m for the freehold.

Burleigh Court Hotel has now been acquired by first-time owners, James and Corinna Rae and former manager at the Royal Crescent Hotel in Bath, Simon Austin, who will run the property under as part of a new company, Moonflight Ltd.

Austin was previously hotel manager at Royal Crescent Bath from August 2017 until last month and also boasts experience at the likes of Exclusive Hotels and Venues and Marriott.

The married couple, who were previously management consultants in London, will be taking the established business forward together with business partner Austin at its operational helm.

Based on the motto ‘eat well, sleep well, feel well,’ the new team will focus on creating an experience of ‘country charm with a splash of luxury’ as they roll out a fresh approach at the Cotswolds property.

Austin says: “A unique merge of modern and traditional styles will be at the heart of Burleigh Court and the spirit of generosity will infuse everything we do and offer at the hotel. The restaurant menu will be seasonal on regional and sustainably sourced products with focus on quality and flavours. Based on the simple motto ‘eat well, sleep well, feel well, we promise a relaxed and accessible countryside experience with captivating warmth and a splash of luxury managed by a highly skilled team.”

James and Corinna add: “With its warm country house charm, Burleigh feels wonderfully set back from the busyness of everyday life. Coming from London, this is an asset we cherish and retain while bringing in a fresh approach during the re-brand and a gradual make-over. We do not want to re-invent Burleigh Court but build on the good that is already here. We are excited to have Simon Austin on board and his many years of hospitality knowledge acquired in the luxury boutique hotel market.”
