Charme & Caractere Collection drives expansion into UK market

Hotels Charme et de Caractère (Charme & Character Hotels) is stepping up its drive for expansion in the UK, with the appointment of a new UK ambassador.

The French hotel consortium has properties in over 45 countries in every continent, and is now hoping to attract more UK boutiques to join with Tim Seward, general manager at Bournemouth’s Cliff House Hotel now on board as UK ambassador.

Dubbed ‘the sweetest boutique hotels collection’, the group consists of a whole host of diverse properties ranging from a traditional inn, to a castle, farmstead, townhouse or historic lodge located in towns, the mountains or by the sea.

Seward runs the 14-bedroom hotel in Southbourne, Bournemouth, which became the first UK hotel to join Hotels Charme et de Caractère in early 2016.

President, Jacques Barthelemy said: “I am pleased to have Tim on board as our UK ambassador to grow the Charme & Caractère label across the whole of the UK. Tim has recently become a finalist in the Unsung Hero category for the 2017 Bournemouth Tourism awards for his commitment to hospitality and the events he runs. With over 20 years’ experience in the hotel industry his hospitality skills are second to none I could not think of a better person to grow the Charme & Caractère label across the UK.”

Tim Seward said: “I am delighted to have been asked to become the UK ambassador for this prestigious label of outstanding quality hotels across the world. I am excited to now build the Charme & Caractère label across the UK and also talk with and meet hoteliers in the UK ready to join this outstanding collection.”
