Chef Elliot Hill is set to open a new restaurant called Arkle at five-star The Chester Grosvenor, after being appointed as the hotel’s new Executive Chef.
Hill, who previously acted as Head Chef at Liverpool’s Panoramic 34 restaurant, takes over from former Executive Chef Simon Radley, who left The Chester Grosvenor in October 2021 after more than 30 years of service.
Hill will also oversee the hotel’s 2 AA Rosette restaurant ‘La Brasserie’, as well as the afternoon tea and banqueting functions.
Arkle will be found in the space once occupied by ‘Simon Radley at the Chester Grosvenor’ and will be a fine-dining restaurant.
Richard Grove, The Chester Grosvenor’s General Manager, commented: “Elliot is a creative and ambitious chef. He is passionate about food and the development of those working with him, his enthusiasm is contagious, and I am confident he will inspire the whole team and be a real asset to the hotel.
“The Chester Grosvenor has a reputation for outstanding cuisine, and we’re looking forward to Elliot enhancing that reputation as he moulds our offering to fit with his vision.”
Hill, who is Chester-born and raised, added: “I am proud and honoured to join The Chester Grosvenor and head up the kitchen in my home city. Not only is the hotel a Chester icon, but a culinary institution that has led the way for decades.
“I am incredibly excited to join the whole team, where I’ll seek to continue and build on the tradition of excellence and be part of the hotel’s future. I also cannot wait to launch our restaurant ‘Arkle’, a refined dining experience delivered the Cestrian way.”
Hill previously earned and retained an entry in the Michelin guide while Head Chef at Panoramic 34.
Chef Elliot Hill will open The Arkle restaurant at The Chester Grosvenor in March 2022.
