Claire Randall leaves her role at Idle Rocks and St Mawes

Claire Randall has left her position at Idle Rocks and St Mawes Hotel in Truro, seven months after being appointed general manager.

Representatives for the hotel confirmed her departure, telling BH, “Claire Randall is no longer at Idle Rocks, she left for personal and family reasons”.

In December 2018, it was revealed that Randall was to leave Lucknam Park, the five-star hotel near Bath after almost 20 years. She had been managing director there since 2010.

She then joined the Idle Rocks and St Mawes Hotel in March 2019, teaming up with the properties’ owners David and Karen Richards to over both hotels.

Having had a home in Cornwall for the past eight years, at the time, Randall said it had been a ‘long ambition’ to relocate there and the position at The Idle Rocks, which has 19 bedrooms, proved the ‘ideal opportunity’.

Randall has more than 30 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, both in the UK and overseas, working at prestigious properties such as Gleneagles and The Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong.

A six-year period working as an inspector for the Michelin Guide in Great Britain and Ireland lead her to the role of general manager at Lucknam Park in 1999.
