Sarah Gaskin from The Headland Hotel was crowned Concierge of the Year at last night’s Boutique Hotelier Personal Service Star awards.

Sarah Gaskin was a regular guest of The Headland for several years and when relocating to Cornwall was determined to join The Headland team, which she did eight years ago.

She started at the hotel as a porter, loved meeting and greeting guests and being the face of The Headland. Sarah very quickly realised her passion for hospitality, which she wishes she had done many years ago.

Demonstrating her capability to engage with our guests and visitors she progressed into a guest host role and then took on the role of duty manager.

She is incredibly passionate about helping guests and enhancing their stay and has naturally gravitated to the role of concierge. Sarah says: “I love this role. I’m one of the first people to meet guests when they enter The Headland and so I set the tone of their stay from the moment they step across the threshold. Every day is a pleasure. Hearing the words ‘Thank you Sarah’ makes me grin from ear to ear every time.” The more difficult the guest request the more Sarah enjoys the challenge.
