A hotel situated in Looe on the south east Cornish coast has now gone up for sale with an asking price of £1.1m.
Being sold through Christie + Co, the Fieldhead Hotel overlooks Hannafore Beach and occupies a three story property thought to have been constructed in the late Victorian era.
The hotel comprises 16 bedrooms – almost all of which have a balcony or terrace – a bar, restaurant and outdoor swimming pool overlooking the coast.
Also provided on the site, currently utilised as owner’s accommodation, is a substantial detached house next to the hotel called ‘Carn Brea,’ which is available by separate negotiation at an asking price of £450,000.
The current owner, Julian Peck, purchased the business in 2006 and has since put significant effort into extensively refurbishing and improving the property, creating a successful and profitable operation with a strong base of repeat guests.
Peck is now looking to sell The Fieldhead Hotel in order to retire.
Stephen Champion, senior business agent at Christie & Co’s Exeter office comments: “Our clients are selling due to retirement and the hotel offers real opportunity for a new owner to come in and increase the current levels of trade. We have no doubt its unique location will help generate significant interest in this coastal hotel.
“A thriving and well run business such as The Fieldhead Hotel is ideally suited to an owner operator partnership who would continue to benefit from the associated cost savings and high levels of profit.”
