Cotswolds golf club plans to tee off with new hotel as part of £6.6m development

A golf club in the Cotswolds is planning to tee off into the hotel market with the creation of a new boutique as part of an extensive £6.6m redevelopment.

Feldon Valley Golf Club at Lower Brailes, near Shipston-on-Stour, is currently undergoing a complete renovation, which will see its existing club redesigned, new external terraces overlooking the course built, and the construction of a new 13-bedroom hotel.

Work is being carried out by contractor Stepnell and is due to be completed by summer 2018, with the new builds being designed by Design Engine Architects.

Once finished next year, the workforce would double as a result.

Operations director at Feldon Valley Golf Club, Robert Clive, said that the changes were needed to ensure the ‘long-term sustainability’ for the business.

Robert Clive, operations director for 360 Golf Ltd, said: “These are very exciting times for Feldon Valley.

“It was vital to us that the construction was carried out professionally and sensitively as the golf business will remain open throughout the contract period.”

Feldon Valley Golf Club is an 18 hole, 6230 yard par 71 golf course, which was purchased by new owners Thariq Ahmad in 2013.

Since then, the club has seen substantial improvements to the golf course which helped to increase membership and visitor rates substantially.

In May the third phase of Feldon Valley’s redevelopment began.
