William Inglis has joined Crerar Hotel Group as the general manager of Thainstone House in Inverurie.
Coming from recent positions with Hotel Indigo and Staybridge Suites Dundee, he brings a wealth of experience in country house and boutique hotel management.
Inglis joins Thainstone at a time when the hotel is growing its position in the market and investing £15m into a refurbishment programme across its portfolio.
The investment will help position its six hotels at the ‘top end’ of the market as it bids to improve each one’s rating from three- to four-stars.
The project will be part funded by the sale of three of the group’s hotels – The Ben Wyvis, the Craiglynne and the Eight Acres – which were placed on the market in January for £6.85m, and also self-financed by trading profits.
Crerar Hotels also sold its 72-bedroom Scotland’s Hotel & Leisure Club in Pertshire in an off-market deal to Irish Castle Collection in January.
Commenting on his new appointment, Inglis said: “I’m looking forward to working with the amazing team at Thainstone House.
“Now I’m settling in I shall be getting involved in the community, reaching out to the local businesses and groups.”
Thainstone House comprises 48 bedrooms, the 2AA Rosette-awarded restaurant ‘The Green Lady’ and the more casual ‘Stockman’s Bar,’ as well as a spa and leisure club, meeting rooms and a large lawn with marquee space.
