De Vere Wokefield Estate next to go under the knife as part of brand’s country upgrade


De Vere Wokefield Estate, near Reading, is undergoing a multi-million pound refurbishment as part of the brand’s wider country estate portfolio upgrade.

The epic estate, which is home to 376 bedrooms, 51 function rooms, golf course, the iconic mansion house, plus 250 acres of outdoor space, has unveiled the first phase of its renovation project, with 54 upgraded bedrooms and an additional 95 rooms in the new 1,300 sq mtr executive centre.

Howard Lewis, De Vere Wokefield Estate’s general manager commented: “I am delighted to see phase one of our landmark restoration complete with the addition of the new Executive Centre and I am looking forward to seeing the transformation across the estate unfold as we restore this well-established popular venue to its former glory.”

The restoration of De Vere Wokefield Estate is part of a wider multi-million pound development project across the De Vere Country Estate portfolio, which is aiming to position the mansion house back at the heart of each property to celebrate their British history.

More works are planned for completion by the end of Q1 2017, including the refurbishment of the executive centre’s remaining 73 bedrooms and pre-function space, The Street, as well as the introduction of De Vere’s signature coffee shop, Burr & Co.

The mansion house will also be given a facelift, with all meeting rooms and the 87 guest bedrooms enhanced, as well as the addition of a new reception with boot room, restaurant, bar and lounge.
