Debrah Dhugga, managing director at Dukes London, is to leave her position to join The Apartment Group as COO.
Dhugga has been at Dukes as MD for the past 10 years, overseeing Dukes London and the launch of Dukes Dubai in 2016 and said she was ‘sad to be leaving’ both Dukes and parent company Seven Tides.
“It’s been a wonderful experience and I have so many fabulous memories and worked with some amazing people,” she comments.
She will now join the board of The Apartment Group in September, a significant player in the North East’s leisure sector with a portfolio comprising hotels, restaurants, coaching inns and bars.
Bin Sulayem, Seven Tides CEO, thanked Debrah for her commitment to the company and said he was sorry to see Debrah go, wishing her every success in her new role.
Speaking on her new role, Dhugga said: “I am very much looking forward to joining TAG and the new challenge it will bring as well as moving back to an area I am very passionate about.”
In her new role, she will report to The Apartment Group founder Duncan Fisher and work close with the team to oversee brand development, operations, and the group’s aggressive expansion plans.
Fisher said “Debrah is extremely talented with an unrivalled passion for the hospitality industry and we are thrilled and privileged to welcome her to the team. She has a proven track record of developing brands, as well as being incredibly focused on customer service and staff development.
“She will be a key component in helping TAG move into its next stage of growth.”
Dhugga added: “TAG is at an exciting stage and while already a very successful business, I am excited to be involved in the new developments as well as being based back in Northumberland. This was too good an opportunity to turn down, yet hard to walk away from a business I have believed in and involved with for 10 years.”
