Derelict Peterborough mill could be brought to life as boutique hotel

A derelict 19th century mill in Peterborough could be transformed into a new boutique hotel and arts space if plans are approved by councillors.

Whitworth Mill on the banks of the River Neve is preparing to be sold to Bedford-based property development company, Samsons, which made an unconditional offer for the mill and its surrounding land.

The mill occupies four floors and was put on the market in October 2019. The new hotel would be developed in the upper floors, with a new arts space created on the ground floor, complete with a new performance area.

A restaurant and food court would also be built on the ground floor.
