Claridge’s, London’s legendary Mayfair hotel, has said its 2013 Christmas tree will be designed by long-time guests and friends designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.
The designers revealed details and a sketch of the Christmas tree on Instagram last month.
The tree, which will depict iconic elements from a traditional Christmas tree reinterpreted with Sicilian elements, draws on the Italian heritage of the designers.
It will feature hand-crafted Sicilian puppets known as ‘pupi’, hand-painted Italian festive glass baubles and a bespoke multi-coloured ‘luminarie’ framework created in Southern Italy.
The new tree will be unveiled in Claridge’s on November 26, 2013.
